Just heard this on the late news....quite shocked.

Died aged 73 from breast cancer bless her.

Not sure if she was known in the USA but was well popular over here.

She was well known here in the US, and will be missed. She had many songs on the radio (remember those?) that were very popular here, and no one can forget her as Sandy in the musical/movie Grease. Sad to hear.

Grease had sort of a revival when I was young in the 90's and the movie and even more the songs were printed into our minds as part of the cultural baggage.
For me she is an icon of a somewhat polished, pretty sort of country. Very pretty in her case.

Judith Durham (of The Seekers) passed away the previous week.
Probably not as well known as ONJ, but an equally great talent.
Judith's enunciation and diction was such you could understand each and every syllable sung.

Two sad losses within such a short time.
