I'm sorry his last months went by witnessing his country go crazy. I don't think he deserved that.
I'm not a fan of men who are loved or respected in most of Russia. Not a loved or respected man in most of Russia.
Not loved by the people. Downright hated in many of the FSR's.I'm not a fan of men who are loved or respected in most of Russia.
It is my impression that his failure was part inadequacy, but mostly the machinations of the vultures around him, who went on to shape Russia as we see it today. I don't consider him a great statesman, but I don't see him as evil either. He wasn't up to the task, but I doubt if anyone would be.Not loved by the people. Downright hated in many of the FSR's.
I'm glad you did it to keep me from doing it.When I see Gorbachev I always think of this scene....
Yup.By 1988, he knew the USSR’s number was up, and he dealt with it in the most reasonable possible way.
Thatcher, Reagan and JPII called the dance, and Gorby did the right moves.
Regardless of anything else, he should be remembered for that.
