RIP Alan Arkin

Alan Arkin has died at age 89. Known mainly as an actor, he started out as a singer in the 1950's with the Tarriers whose hits included "Cindy, Oh Cindy" and "The Banana Boat Song" which actually sold more records than the Harry Belafonte version.

I remember his music, and I think I remember some of his work as an actor, though i'll jump on Google to find out what. RIP.

I think 89 is a good long life, unless you are 88 or 89.

A lot of great roles already mentioned. Another is his performance in Glengarry Glen Ross...such an all-star cast with superb acting in every scene. The way Arkin plays off of Ed Harris' character is one of the many memorable aspects.
