My parents took our big ass Plymouth station wagon to the drive-in when Octopussy came out in the theaters, the drive-in was running a double feature that began with For Your Eyes Only and then Octopus second.

Wow, my first Bond experience was similar. My folks took my brother and me to a drive-in Bond double feature ... except the pairing was Live and Let Die, followed by Diamonds are Forever. Based on this, along with my prior exposure to reruns of The Saint on the local station weekend afternoons, Sir Roger was my preferred 007 through most of my childhood.
Funny ... Moonraker is generally considered one of the weaker entries in the series. To me, it's also one of the most rewatchable of the bunch and in my top three favorites.
He did some terrific things in his "retirement." There will never be anyone quite like him.
