Our Featured Interview tonight as we kick off our 5th Season of The Pipes Magazine Radio Show is with Rich Esserman. Rich has been in the pipe smoking and collecting hobby for over 40 years, has a wealth of knowledge and has lived through a lot of history of different brands and how they have evolved and devolved. He is also known for his love of very large "magnum" pipes. He has written lots of articles for The Pipe Smoker's Ephemeris, and The Pipe Collector, and is also in charge of The New York Pipe Show.

I really enjoyed the change of pace with this episode. Listening to Rich tell stories is always a treat, and I appreciate the format changes you made to the show to accommodate this. As you've mentioned in the past, the format of the PMRS has that "Late Show" vibe. This episode reminded me more of Larry King, where you let the guest set the pace and tell the stories. It was a refreshing change-up. Thank you.
As a former flautist, I really enjoy James Gallway's work, but the gem in "Play it Again Sam" has to be Cleo Laine. Gods what a voice. She can sing to me ANY TIME.
I hope the trip to Germany was fruitful.
