This is good stuff. A friend sent me a generous sample a while back, just in time for the blockade. I've been living without my favorite tobacco of all time, RB plug, for yonks.

@hugodrax, RB plug! Never been brave enough to order that one, let alone smoke it. I heard somewhere it's a much stronger version of cannon plug, that was enough to calm my interest somewhat. Although I've also heard it's a reincarnation of ogdens redbreast flake, which I've never had the chance to sample. I would be interested in your opinion as I've found a source for RB plug. Regards, Simon.

Sir,
Don't be afraid of RB plug. I have a brick stored and a pouch of plug I'm smoking at the mo. It's not like other plugs I've had. Revor clearly gets its sweetness from the top flavoring while the tobacco is relatively dark. It also cuts like nothing else I've ever seen; Revor is just plain easy to prepare.
RB, on the other hand, is a brick. Keep your knife sharp. It's dense. It's also the exact opposite of any other tobacco I've ever smoked as the tobacco is incredibly sweet, maybe too sweet. The Cheviot essence, whatever the hell that is, exists as a bittering agent. The combined effect leaves the taste of a good gingerbread.
Now I'm not a big fan of dedicating pipes, but until you know you like it I'd definitely recommend dedicating a briar. This stuff will ghost a Falcon's aluminum stem. The good news is the funk only gets better.
If you'd like a sample, pm me.

3P is great on its own merits. Wish RP were available domestically in the USA (or at least the South).

@hugodrax, thankyou for your description of RB which comes across as more of a challenge! What is more, with Christmas around the corner, & the mention of 'gingerbread', the well known Teutonic tease, it is a challenge I shall rise too with my next tobacco order. If I find it lacking to my taste, your good self shall be the recipient of what's left.

@guyrox. Sorry. I didn't see it. It's a Gawith plug unfortunately no longer imported. Lovely stuff. Nobody knows what the "RB" stands for, but it's speculated that it is a continuation of the old Redbreast flake. Maybe because there is a little bird on the label.
I didn't mean to change the subject of the thread and do apologize. Revor is gorgeous stuff.
