Revor Plug, jarred in 2009. A bit dry, but still in good shape. It burns better dry, so that's not a problem for me.

Let me start by saying I categorically dislike aromatics, and the Lakeland essence, although greatly mellowed with age, is still there in the jar. But I have noticed something strange this time around...the topping is virtually non-existent upon lighting, and stays well hidden for the first half bowl. But then near the end, it comes back noticeably. Typically a topping will be more evident in the beginning, just the opposite of this batch.

Starts off with pure tobacco essence, and it's really good. Strong, oily, with many of the same characteristics of G&H's plugs and ropes. There is some complexity here, which can be altered by the cadence of your puffing, providing some straight up Kentucky weed goodness, intermingled with some smooth toastiness. Yes, it's strong. A smaller bowl is recommended. Burns reliably, but needed some relights due to my careless prep - just tore some leaves apart, and scrunched them up and jammed them into the bowl.

As the topping begins to come through about half way through the bowl, it is not at all offensive, so aromatic-haters may just enjoy this one. It's very subtle, and the subtleness is perhaps due to the age, but I am really enjoying this stuff. Probably will regret when it's gone, because newer stuff may just have too much topping for my taste. Or perhaps not...would appreciate your comments on smoking fresher weed.
