Where NY, CT & MA meet
Thanks! Any good pipe shops around? I get to Danbury every so often (so Hartford wouldn't be too much of a stretch). It looks like the closest to me might be Cup O' Joes, which is a few hours away in upstate NY.
Hi. I’m about an hour north of you on the CT/MA border. Unfortunately there’s nothing close but Edleez in Albany is cool and so is Parklane in Clifton Park. I try to stop by those places when I’m near Albany.

In 2008, on a trip to Dublin for an Irish Studies conference, I wandered into Peterson's pipe shop on Nassau Street and, on a whim, purchased a Sherlock Holmes sandblasted Deerstalker. I smoked G.L. Pease Fillmore and Westminster that I picked up back home from my local B&M in it for a couple of years while in grad school but put it away when I moved from the Midwest to the Northeast for work.

Recently, while I was back home visiting my folks for the holidays, I was reminded of it when my dad was smoking a cigar. The instant he lit up I missed my old pipe dearly. So, when I got back to NY I dug it out of the closet and jumped on YouTube to see what folks had to say about contemporary tobaccos. I watched a dizzying amount of reviews across YTPC and decided to pick up a tin of Peterson's Elizabethan Mixture and My Mixture 965. I've been enjoying both, but my palate is pretty basic at this point. Looking forward to developing some more nuance as I tour a wider variety of blends. Good to be back.
Welcome back welcome back. The amount of quality blends out here are plentiful. So now for the fun part. Go out and sample some and try locating a club in your area. GLTY
