Hi
It's been quite a while since i joined and actually smoked a pipe but here i am again. Just a reminder, my name is Tim and i am from Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. Last time i got myself addicted to Dr Grabow Pipes and bought quite a few (about a dozen) which i still have and will be using. I also have my beloved Corn Cobs and a Couple of Falcons. I have some unopened Dunhill Tobacco including Nightcap, Royal Yacht and Elizabethan Mixture which must be at least 6 or 7 years old. Will probably be trying it at sometime and hope it's ok, i also have some sealed pouches about the same age. I have ordered some Early Morning Pipe Tobacco which should arrive tomorrow so will start my 2nd Pipe Journey then. My next Pipe Purchase will be a curved one, i always wanted one but could never find an half decent one. I have also found DR Grabow pipes have become quite rare here in the UK, don't think i have ever seen a curved Grabow but they must of made them i would of thought. Anyway that's all for now. Thanks.

Thanks for the Welcome back guys. I think Smoke-King will be my main goto Tobacconist though i do like Cheapasmokes which i have just ordered from. The first thing i noticed straight away is that my main brand from before has gone. I always liked my Dunhill Tobacco and noticed Petersen and Charatan seem to have taken them over. Just bought myself some early morning pipe and hope i still like it. I remember before i quit smoking in 2018 that i was looking for a Bent Pipe and struggled to find one i liked, i did buy a Church Warden but wouldn't you know, it's the one i can't find. Spent a while yesterday buffing up my Dr Grabow Collection and also found out i need a new bowl for one of my Falcon's, what did shock me was my pipe lighter from back then still fired up first time after being sat 8 years or so.

Thanks, as already said i do like Royal Yacht a lot or should i say i did like it last time round. I am also in the process of buying a Bent Pipe, i am thinking the shape might suit me more. I was talking to a friend on the phone this morning and we were talking about pipes and he advised buying a cheap briar pipe to see if a bent pipe is actually the pipe i want. He said i could buy one more expensive and not like the feel of it so it would be a waste of money. He also advised me not to buy new especially at the cheaper end as some companies treat the wood with different chemicals which could be dangerous. I have seen a used Petersen which looked in good condition for just under £40, it has a smooth finish and i was thinking about getting a Rustic one. I am not in any rush so will keep looking. I have put the Smooth Petersen on my watch list just in case.

Hello Tim. I spent a year in Leeds in 2011......absolutely loved it there, and I loved the Yorkshire people (I'm Irish). I stayed in the Mulberry Pub (now closed) and also in a flat in Hyde Park.

All fond memories, and if I had had the balls to ask the beautiful lass at the Yorkshire Bank out, who knows, I might still be there!

All the best mate,
Adam.

Hi Adam. I remember the Mulberry Pub from back in the day, there aren't many/any good Pubs left in Leeds. I stopped drinking about 20 years ago but still have a few friends who go out regularly. We have a lot of Irish living in Leeds and have held a St Patricks Day parade every year for a long time, We also have the Irish Centre just on the outskirts of Leeds City Centre.
