I’ve decided to finally join the forum after years of reading the content. My name is Steven, and I am from North Carolina. I have smoked pipes occasionally since my freshman year of college way back in 2004, but I’ve mainly been a cigar smoker. Every fall I let my cigars rest and mainly smoke my pipes. I have a feeling I will become primarily a pipe smoker from now on. I always forget how enjoyable it is until I get back into it. It does help that my seasonal pipe smoking habit leaves me with a rotation of moderately aged tobaccos to enjoy!
So onto the things that matter: I rotate between English & Virginia’s with a very rare session with an aromatic—if you count GL Pease’s Virginia cream as an aromatic. Right now I’m enjoying the Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding Reserve. I have not tried Mixture 79, and my favorite color is blue.
I hope I hit everything. Anyway, thanks for the loads of good information I have gleaned from this site over the years, and I look forward to joining the conversation!

If you're referring to both Carolinas, sure! I'm also fond of Tarheel, or you could even go with the most interesting Cackylackian, where I hear a lot of folks call it North Cackylacky. All terms of endearment to me, at least.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
@Carolinachurchwarden- I’m usually traveling on weekends but I hope to make it to a Pipe Club meeting in the next few months. Look forward to meeting you and everyone else!

Sounds good! Right now, they've decided they were meeting on Sundays at like 2 pm, and unfortunately I was out of town for both of the last ones of those. Used to be second Tuesday of each month and either at the Sawmill Taproom, in the fall/winter, or at the Brickhouse off Hillsborough Street in the summer months. I think they've moved now to Sawmill Taproom and also had been trying the new Sunday time, since I know at least one lives out in Sanford. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one. Look forward to seeing you at the next one as well, if you and I both can make it. There's an email list that they send out messages to, are you on it yet? If not, I can just let you know when the next one will be.

spca', welcome aboard, and glad you spoke up. We have a trio of rescue cats; two look like pedigree Maine Coons, out of a drainpipe. If you are in striking distance these last few days of the State Fair, you might want to visit The Village of Yesteryear and its resident pipe carver Jerry Perry. I have about seven of his pipes, including several in Mountain Laurel. Lots of info and history here on Forums.
