My first pipe. Turns out it wasn't so bad after all. Took off the bubbly thick finish and garish stain, cut down the stem and added a keyring accent. Also cleaned out the bowl and noticed something neat. This pipe shamelessly steals the Peterson System drilling! This combined with the huge bore on the moulded plastic stem makes this pipe a bit of a reverse Calabash. Of course it was designed for a filter, but I don't like those so the oversized bore remains open, thus contributing to the "system" chamber. Smoked one bowl out of it so far and it worked pretty well. I think my previous disdain for this pipe was built entirely off the price, combustible finish and the sudden appearance of proper briar in my pipe collection. This pipe may take up work duty.
