I just recently transferred to North Central NJ, and I went looking for a local shop that I found through this site. They had hardly any pipes, and a pitiful supply of pipe tobacco. They had a sizable room for their cigars, though. The most amazing part, for me, was a closed room with tables and chairs, a TV, which was called a "tasting room." A sign was posted on the doors to the room stating that to use the room, you had to buy a cigar, smoke it on the room, and after you were finished, if you wanted to stay in the room, you had to buy another cigar. I've been to shops is TN, VA & PA, but this was a whole new world for me. The guy behind the counter said that, on the name of the "Code" they couldn't call it a smoking room or anything like that. I'm sure that's why the room is closed off. Just for my general info, can anyone here fill me in on the state of smoking and tobacco here. I know I'm close to the City which bans large soft drinks, but how repressive is it here?
