Great job on the pipe and the best pictorial on standard clean up I have run across.

I learned about retorts from the gentlemen here on the blog, but this is a great visual for new guys who are not aware of this process.

Hey okiescout, take a close look at the pipe above between the carnauba application and the hand buffing state. You can see that wax has been unevenly applied. This is at least partially due to the fact that I'm using a 3600rpm bench grinder as my buffer and little wheels. If I had a lower rpm setup I'd be using bigger wheels and be able to apply carnauba more evenly. I cheat this by hand buffing with soft cloths and pipe wipes. I also heat the stummel with a heat gun so it takes wax more easily.
