Frozenoak, I share your annoyance at opening too many tins at once. I always teeter because I have so many samples, open jars (that is, jarred blends not being aged), pouches, etc. It's a balancing act. Too much hesitancy means I end up with many wonderful blends that are held for years. Balance in general is an under appreciated virtue, maybe because you never quite know when it is attained.

trouttimes, that's profound. When I was a college freshman, I had a plan and ambition. It was not outlandish. I wasn't proposing a Nobel Prize, but I wanted to shoot high enough to get something going in life. Many things have unfolded with outlandish luck. A few tragedies, personal and historic, have interceded. I have accomplished a lot, but my "plan," still viable, has not bloomed. So this is a truism in life. Next Friday is a good goal for me. Let us keep on.
