Replacing Kaywoodie Stem Inlay

I recently purchased a Kaywoodie panel bulldog Meerschaum. The stem is missing the Kaywoodie logo, but there is a void where the inlay had been. The seller said it fell out and then he misplaced it.
I'm wondering if it's practical to take an inlay from a beater Kaywoodie and transplant it. Has anyone tried this who can offer tips?

I have not tried it yet. I was told that Grabow inlays are about the thickness of a match book cover. I will be watching to see how this goes. I can see carving a white rod into a logo shape and cutting tiny slices and then gluing them into holes... 8O

That's what most people do if they have a better pipe to fix up. There are quit a few woodie collectors on here. Tuold, Dave G. Glucesterman sorry if mispelled send them a PM.

Craig, you could possibly fix it with a white epoxy resin. Fill the void then when set carefully sand it flush with the stem.

Yes a transplant is pretty straight forward. Just find a cheap beater with the same style insert. There are at least two different types. A round insert. (White with black clover center) and a plain white clover insert.
