Not on the UK as you requested, but The Danish Pipe Shop offers genuine Peterson stem replacements.

I think their turnaround time might be less than sending to Sallynoggin.

They did an excellent job re-stemming an old Stanwell of mine.

PS The reason for re-stemming that Stanwell was the sulphurous taste from the inside of the stem.

I was able to clean the outside of the stem satisfactorily but I couldn’t get rid of the sulphurous taste

The 317 is the smallest System pipe they make.

Try scrubbing out the stem with bristle pipe cleaners soaked in Oxyclean, or even strong alcohol if that's what you have around. Try a search onsite for cleaning vulcanite stems, lots of tips.
Will do. Bristle pipe cleaners on order as well as some mineral oil to see if that helps at all.

Had a look on there but they still want $20 for a new stem and they don’t seem to seek them on the E.U site…though obsidian oil is significantly cheaper than Amazon or EBay, even with the p&p taken into account.

Know any jewelers or have any friends with a table-top buffer? That's the fastest way (if you know what you're doing!) The magic eraser will work too, take a bit more time, so make a pot of Yorkshire tea first!

Couldn't you just polish it with a polishing wheel? There are cheap polishing wheels for electric drills.

6DA7A4AA-27D0-4C96-9C25-776B3012ACA5.jpegQuick update: the magic erasers are really good at shifting the sulphur from the stem; inside the stem is a funky mess - I presume because the p-lip doesn’t allow a cleaner all the way through?

There is still a sulphury taste on a dry draw so I will keep going and hope the mineral oil will help…whenever it gets here.

Compared to how it was…

Annnnnnd…I think I’m nearly done.

the stem still has a slight sulphur taste but I’m hoping that a better cleaning regime will get rid of these last remnants.

The p-lip was a bugger to get clean but it looks decent enough I reckon.

And I got through about a packet of pipe cleaners and half a box of magic sponges.

Now…which plug to choose for our maiden voyage? ?

Lots of posts here and so I am a johnny come lately. I spend time, probably to much, restoring Peterson’s. The post about going back to Peterson is spot on.i have done that for several including a 1920’s house pipe. Just note “pipe returned for repair” on custom’s declaration. It was an expensive mistake. I’ve used Oxyclean, soft scrub and then micromesh pads to 12000. Wipe with the obsidian oil after each pad. Works well. Now I have found Briarville’s stem de-oxidizer. Leave over night. Take out, wipe off brown, start starting. Bottle seems to hold for 75 stems. It’s water based and wotks well. Anyway that's my approach and i

Mineral oil will do wonders on some stems after scrubbing. Keeps oxidation at bay for some time.

My surprise is that mineral oil isn't available at the chemist's or grocery or hardware store. Or might it go by a different name?
