Could anyone tell me how to remove the shank from a corn cob pipe? I have googled like mad but get no results I know they are inexpensive but I would prefer to do it right the first time.
The shank on my Country Gentleman appears to be glued in place. Or perhaps the lacquer is acting as glue. That may need to be heated up first. i've never tried. Good luck.
I have a couple of burn out briars with long shanks on them and I want to try making a briar/cob hybrid. Would try to repair the briars normally but these have burned clean through the side of the bowl.
I recently removed 3 cob shanks from the cob bowls.
Place the cob in the palm of your left or right hand, trist the shank with the other hand, voila it is seperated !!
I used Elmers carpenters glue to reglue new shanks.
