I was able to drink in our house once we (I have two brothers) turned 13. That was long ago.
I was allowed to drink cider on Saturday night (usually whilst we watched Match of the Day) from about 13 or 14; and wine with Sunday dinner from 15. But oddly I wasn't allowed beer at home until after I had the first one in the pub that night; after that Dad and I would go to the pub occasionally (probably once a month) for a couple of beers and a game of bar billiards.

One abiding memory of pubs at an early age was going to one of the village pubs with my girlfriend whilst we both 17. We used to take her Pyrenean Mountain Dog which took up most of the floor in the bar! I'm pretty sure the landlord knew we were both underage too but he never challenged us.

That’s how it went. I was sixteen when I went in my first bar. Nobody blinked an eye. The bartender told me they if I wasn’t a troublemaker I could stink there whenever.

i broke the stem, we smoked lot's of weed in it. It was a great pipe for under 20 bucks. I think it had some much resin goop in it that lungs are still suffering.

I haven't been able to find estate pipes much these days. When I did I was fresh out of high school and didn't smoke tobacco.

I love estate pipes. Wonderful bargains to be had, and usually a very decent pipe. So far they've all come from vintage/ antique shops. My first was a Medico Jet Stream. Such an interesting shape and "rustification".

Mine was a meer lined Brebbia - not long ago 2017
Son of a bitch on etsy sold it as new - well, it wasn't but it smoked great albeit some funny flavor that I finally managed to eliminate
after that I lowered my expectations and started buy previously owned pipes(smoked and unsmoked- mostly restored though)
