Title capitalized (rule 9) And I changed the word Tamper to Tool, as that's what those are. I got a couple and love them.

I have several of these tampers with red wood handles, sold on eBay for about $10, and each one keeps getting a little better.

This one is beefy and substantial, and the long spear cleaning pick fits inside a standard pipe bit. The reamer and dottle spoon blade is heavier, and the tamper itself is made of a bit thicker stainless steel than before.

About the only negative is you’ll probably want to round and smooth the sharp edges with a emery board before you’d carry it around in your pocket.

Well worth the $10.

I just bought two of those about an hour before your post.
Reckon I might give that serrated edge a go over with some emery board when they arrive.

Been using pipe nails since smoking pipes. It does everything I need. But do carry Czech tool just in case I need a poker. Comes handy opening fuel bottle for Zippo, and also to lift up the felt at bottom of Zippo insert.

I can't resist pipe tools, so I have several, some with several fold-out tools and others mostly built around a tamper. And of course I have Czech tools, one of the of standard design that my paternal grandfather owned, quite discolored but useful as ever. But I have to pay homage to the pipe nail, so simple and sufficient for most smoking. And they are so inexpensive, they never get lost. I think they carry their own cab fare if they ever need it to follow me home.
