So just a few days ago, I attended the estate sale of a fellow who died twenty years ago. I came across his pipe collection and purchased it for only ten dollars! This collection included four pipes: two corncobs and two briars. One corncob I know for sure is a Missouri Meerschaum, the branding is very obvious. The second I assume is Missouri Meerschaum but I am unsure as there is no clear stamping or any kind of marking. The third is a Comoy Extraordinaire and the last I do not know. It is for this last one that I am making this post, because I think it could be a fairly valuable pipe as the band between the bowl and stem is 14k gold. From the pictures provided, can any of you identify this pipe? Follow the link to see the pictures, I can't figure out how to post pictures in the post, I'm new here.

Access has to be granted. Google images—their web site and m.o.— are a bit arcane.
In the meantime, Once your photos are on a photo hosting site (such as Imgur.com; Postimage; Dropbox, etc. Photobucket), or on virtually any site, (including this site's album) such as eBay, Amazon, you-name-it, select the full sized image, then Control-click (Mac) or Right-click (Windows) on the image itself, then choose "copy image location" or similar words. Now paste that URL (the full web address, which should end in .jpg or .png) into the IMG box in the reply window of the thread you're posting to.
The site's album is also a good choice for displaying photos, and the same method works for obtaining the image's URL for copying into the IMG box.

I can't make out the markings in your pictures, what do they say? In terms of value, I would expect the Comoy's to be the most significant (by a long shot), what is its shape number?

Through further examination and research I have determined with certainty that it is an LHS Sterncrest Ultra Fine #53. In the 1944 issue of Outdoor Magazine it was listed for $10. However as I am new to the pipe smoking world I have no idea how valuable it would be today.
Thank you for your contributions in every form!

Like I said, the Comoy's Exraordinaire is the most collectable/valuable of the four, all day long. :)

Good to know, any sites you'd recommend that I could find the value, or would a local pipe shop be a better bet?

THE LHS Ultra Fine was their top grade. They're collectible, but not a in top dollar collectible. One of these in fine condition sold for about $50 on eBay.
The Comoy Extraordinaire is likely worth quite a bit more.

Let's see some pictures. :) The people on this forum can tell you more about what you have than most pipe shops.

That pipe will likely clean up very nicely. You can find a lot of information about restoring pies on this forum and other places online. It shouldn't take too much work to get that stem nice and black and shiny again.
