Recent Acquisition - Bruce Weaver Bamboo Apple ?

I recently had a directional change for my PAD. From British Factory ? Pipe, I changed to American Artisan ?‍? and bought this Bruce Weaver Bamboo Apple ?. It has excellent bird’s eye ? at the bottom of the bowl and 360 degree brilliant grain - many pipes have been called straight grain for less, so I would prefer to call it straight grain. I am extremely pleased at the aesthetics. It has a metal tendon which is loose, but I hope it will tighten when I smoke it.

That's the year he started making hand cut stems. Prior to that he was using pre-made stems, adding delrin tenons, and shaping them to fit his stummels. He really had a knack for stem cutting.?

Bruce absolutely made me return a pipe for a new stem. He would not allow me to pay for the replacement. I had purchased the pipe at the Kansas City Show the second year he was showing pipes - wish I could remember the year but want to say 2008 - anyway, he said it was too thick and his hand made stems were more comfortable. He was right. I smoke this pipe every morning and have since he got it back to me. What a guy and what pipes!
