You may find that, as with new cars, they all smell that way. I usually flush my pipes with Lakelands to achieve a friendlier ghost. The medical odor is horrible. I left it to air out overnight ... same thing. Sending back for replacement will keep you posted.
I used to try all manner of cleaning to remove the 1Q taint from estate pipes I’d bought. After a while, I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. Now, on occasion, I’ll spark up a bowl of something and get an ever-so-faint whiff of Lane Men’s Gel Stick, and say “Hey, that’s nice!”. It’s all attitude. You may find that, as with new cars, they all smell that way. I usually flush my pipes with Lakelands to achieve a friendlier ghost.
Best answer.Would love to smell that pipe. Just to see what you're talking about. Sounds messed up frankly.
The only thing I can think that you are smelling is excess stain. I've had a few new Petersons where stain came off when I polished them with B&A Balm. Try calling the vendor - maybe they added something to prepare the pipe, like some nasty cleaner for the internals. SmokingPipes used to use a nasty-smelling cleaner that I could smell in the stem. The medical odor is horrible. I left it to air out overnight ... same thing. Metformin has an aroma? I've taken it for a decade or so and never noticed.A bowl that smells like Merthiolate or Metformin, though…not so sure my mind could triumph over that matter.
No one told you, so no harm...but you started this thread during Comedy Hour. The medical odor is horrible. I left it to air out overnight ... same thing. Sending back for replacement will keep you posted.
No, he started this thread with a vague sentence and then never answered any of our questions about what he was talking about. No one told you, so no harm...but you started this thread during Comedy Hour.
I guess I never noticed. But then I did switch to the ER form a number of years ago, and apparently that version has a reduced aroma. The things one learns!
You're the moderator, so you're right. But to me there were helpful responses and questions that could be asked. I don't see the point in trying to chase someone off.No, he started this thread with a vague sentence and then never answered any of our questions about what he was talking about.
