Rattrays composition

Am interested in getting an idea on the rattrays English blends.

Old goalie is a happy place for me now, and am interested in the other blends, particularly the oriental and English.

I just need a rough idea of how much of what is in each one so as to compare to other things I've tried

Here's the Rattray page at Tobacco Reviews. That will give you some of the info you are looking for.
Professional Mixture and Highland Targe have been two of my favorites.

Im trying to get the actual percentages. The reviews I e seen on that site, well let's not discuss.

Old gowrie can taste like wet leather gloves. And my phone wants to change gowrie to goalie

I suspect only the manufacturer would know the actual percentages. That might be considered proprietary information and not readily shared.

I am a little confused by the, let’s say, the prospect of there being a benefit to trolling in a pipe and tobacco forum. What’s the point?

Even if you knew the exact percentage of each tobacco in the blend, you probably could not reproduce it. Source of the leaf, processing, toppings, etc. would all be proprietary.

Even in challenges conducted by professional blenders, specific blends have been almost impossible to duplicate.

I read most of his posts. Sounded a lot like English may have not been his primary language or he's an extremely new smoker. Many long time members have posted far worse.

No benefit in any rational sense - which is the answer as well. Some form of jollies - looks like he was disappeared from here about the same time he was disappeared from another forum where it was mostly nonsense for the sake of nonsense.

I see a lot of value in knowing percentages of leaf in a given blend. It’s why when someone posts a home blend formula that they give weights or percentages. Sure, everyone trying to make it will end up with something slightly different but, damn, you have to have an anchor point. The Cult of the Irreproducible Tin has always seemed silly to me. Any blend can be reproduced, to a greater or lesser degree (Russ proved that several times over), and even if you miss the mark, having percentages helps you get close.

Having benefited personally from this recipe, I am in agreement with @woodsroad here in regards to recipe sharing.

That said, OP was definitely a troll, as proven both here and elsewhere. Getting banned from two places in the same day indicates he was on a mission, and it wasn’t to spread joy and harmony.
