Shopping with my wife in Center Como today and happened upon this little tobacco store. They had a few nice have Savinelli’s. On the very bottom shelf I saw an unsmoked 2011 sitter, their pipe the year. It was in a beautiful presentation box. I offered 60% of the tag and the shop owner accepted.

I planned on making my way to Lecco to see Luca at Corti. But the driver wanted 350 euro's round trip, so I used that to buy a nice pipe on line from Corti, shipped home VAT free.

A few more Savinelli pipes in the window and of course because it’s Italy, a beautiful cathedral directly across the square.

Nice score! That’s their 135th Anniversary pipe with Giancarlo Savinelli’s signature on the stem; the magnetic base is a fun touch.
