In charge of a raku firing that went very well today. No bubbles in the glaze and we had some sawdust laying around for the reduction. You can see how glassy the pieces look when we opened the kiln-that's a good sign. No cracked or chipped pots either. I've been meaning to make some pipe rests and stands for months now but there always seems to be something else around to grab my attention. Any ideas for designs? Bare in mind the pieces shrink about 13% in the bisque firing so it's difficult to make anything perfectly fit a certain pipe.

Thanks guys. I'll probably just make something simple to start with and save the crazy stuff for when I can afford my own studio.

I've only done one Raku fired piece but it was a cool experience, ceramics isn't my forte at least not vessels but I do enjoy sculptural ceramics.
