Barbi. It has been three years now.He was an inspiration to me as I was coming along. His spirit, as his pipes are great and live on through others.:Such is life, He would smile, waving his arms, then continue what he was doing.

Yes, he was a great pipemaker and a very nice guy. I only knew him by conversations in newsgroups and forums, but I admired the passion for his profession. I never could aquire a pipe from him, when they were still affordable, but I will smoke a pipe in his honor.

Great pipemaker and great man. Early in my pipemaking adventure I contacted him via email not really expecting an answer not knowing each other. To my suprise he answered almost immediatley!

We had a great conversation of pipes, briar and family. Shame we never met.

Yes raise a bowl for Rainer Barbi!
