I loved my first Radice so much that when I saw this one I knew it was meant to be mine. This will be my first "large" pipe. Most of my pipes are what I call medium or average sized pipes. This thing is definitely big, not gargantuan, but a definite step up in size for me. Of course when I bought the pipe I had to take advantage of the tobacco sale in progress at the same time.

I am going to need a nice long evening of serious relaxation to properly break this pipe in.

it is beautiful, in my opinion, I like the larger pipes, most of the time, but I am not a pro.

I am no pro for sure.

I have no idea how the Dunbar is... yet. These are all new tobaccos to me. Saw good reviews on them and I like Lat-blends so I went for it.

As for my first smoke in it... I am not sure yet. I will probably pick something a little on the neutral and light side to start of with and then move into something more hearty once I have a good carb layer in it.

Nice score. I really like the diamond shank. Unless you are a constant clincher, I think you will be happier with the bigger pipes. I think you can really go to town on a good blend with less chance of the bowl getting too hot.

Congrats on a great looking Radice and some nice blends. I would load that bad boy up with some Dunbar. It is a very tasty vaper that is nice and sweet with a bit of spice. Radice's in my opinion smoke ever bit as good as a Castello at a fraction of the cost. That one has some great thick walls that will take a lot of hard puffing to get it even warm. Incredibly nice blast on it as well, one of the best I have ever seen on a Radice.

In the last six months, I've acquired two new Radices -- my first ever Radices, and I have to tell you -- I am in love! They are incredible pipes -- the best smokers that I have. Although there are obviously tons of great pipes out there, I'd be quite content if I never get a pipe other than a Radice from here on out. I'm sure that you're going to really enjoy that one -- it's a beauty.

I too keep going back to Radice pipes. I couldn't agree more that they comparable to Castello at a fraction of the cost. I almost bought a Claudio Cavicchi but again the price difference was too much to justify over the Radice.

Love it ! ! ! I have been eyeballing Radice pipes for some time now and this thread sealed the deal...I will buy one soon. I totally agree that Dunbar is an incredible smoke but I don't know if I would want to smoke that large of a bowl of it. The Squadron Leader or the Odyssey, on the other hand, would be just right in a bowl of that size.

Got chance to try this pipe tonight. Smoked half a bowl of Dunbar (very nice tobacco btw). Very impressed with this pipe and now I understand the advantage of a larger pipe. A very cool smoke that really let's you taste the all the subtle flavors of the tobacco.

Man that is a big pipe. I love it. And cool place. Wish there was a place like that around here that I could smoke my pipe at.

Nice pipe! Thanks for sharing the pics. Don't own a Radice, but there are many that I like. Enjoy your new pipe.
