Big yawn for me. I don't like his "music", and I like even less what he represents culturally. Good riddance.
Granted, I was never a fan of his and I probably wouldn't recognize a single song from him other than possibly 'Purple Rain', but damn... that is freaking cold!
Other than that, R.I.P. and God Bless.

Go fuck yourself. Whatever malady he represents exists inside your own, clearly, sick head. I knew the man. If you were 1/8 the man he was you would be well, you wouldn't have posted this crap. Peace out.

Prince did a lot to show other recording artists how to take control of their work and their money. If you don't like his music, his business acumen is still rare and impressive for a recording artist. Gutsy.

Hey Cortez-

Everyone has a right to their opinion, but sometimes its better to keep them to yourself. I really wasn't a Michael Jackson fan, but I respected his accomplishments... hard to deny the man had some talent.

As for Prince:

Prince has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time.[2] He won seven Grammy Awards,[3] a Golden Globe Award,[4] and an Academy Award.[5] He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the first year of his eligibility.[6] Rolling Stone ranked Prince at number 27 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[7]
Again, hard to deny his accomplishments. A gentleman would give him a little respect in his passing, whether you liked him or not........... or you could simply not comment at all..... :(
Its not a forum "kumbaya" moment either, just a little thread to take pause, and maybe smoke a bowl in a deceased man's honor......don't shit on that, show some respect......... just my 2 cents............. :puffy:

Exactly. He was a fascinating man. Great musician/guitarist. I also respect the fact that he stood up for himself in his business affairs. I was not a fan, but he made his mark and it was significant.

That's OK. People like you will be mostly dead soon, and the rest even more marginalized than they are now, and the world will be a better place.
Bring your hate with you when you go, thanks. I hope you come to terms with it.

“If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night. All the stars are a-bloom with flowers...” The little prince has gone back to his planet...

He's someone I didn't like when I was younger, as I went through a hardcore Michael Jackson phase around the time thriller came out, then got into heavy metal and dislilked all pop, but now songs like Kiss give me shivers in a good way. Definitely a talented guy who got screwed by the industry and then fought back and got control of his career. He played in Winnipeg then after the show he went to a nightclub and had a 20$ show that lasted hours.

A guy who picked a decent guitar, wrote some songs that appeal to some certainly doesn't seem to merit a stranger's visceral hate. An amazing response that, and even more surreal, was the need to post such on a thread obviously intended to eulogize. Some just can't resist posting something petty to detract.
I wasn't attracted to the guy's music but, is that a reason to revel in his death? Hardly! Not an unexpected response from certain members though.
