The oldest rock & roll band with the original line-up ends. Sad news.
I've been a fan since I was 16, with Tres Hombres being my introduction in the mid 70's. Didn't get to see them in their hey-day of the over-indulgent stage show.
We have tickets for a show in Frederick MD in mid September (local fair). Billy F told Eddie Trunk (XM Radio talk show guy) last night that they discussed with Dusty what happens next and Dusty's wish was "that the show go on". So, we'll see
Saw them a few years ago at another very small, outdoor venue in Southern Maryland. Lawn chairs, about 50' from stage, outstanding evening. Bumped into Billy before the show. The venue was a boat museum complex with winding docks. He was at one dead end, smoking, something. I was smoking my pipe, rounded the bend and there he was. I didn't want to bother him, so I said hello and have a great show. He said "cool" and gave me the two finger ZZ-Top wave. That's one funky dude. His new album, "Hardware" is very good.
RIP Dusty
