He was my hero at 14. I outgrew the music as I got older, but now appreciate the nostalgia. Some of it still holds up. My Hungarian mother hated my "Kish" posters (with her accent). He was on borrowed time for the past 20 years. RiP Ace.

I air-guitar’ed Ace throughout my childhood… and sometimes as an adult
August 16th 1977 the day Elvis died I saw them at the Cow Palace in SF. Eddie Money opened the show, followed by Cheap Trick and the Kiss. They dedicated the show to 'the KING' and then played "King of the Night Time World". It was the Destroyer tour and THAT was on the album. I think that was a change from the normal set list. Was truly an AMAZING show. Only time I saw them, but I loved that night. Sound, fires , lights explosion, a great time.

Funny I saw Eddie & Cheap Trick a few more times after that, but never again Kiss, It was the season of life. Spent the rest od the school year in fun banter with friends bickering back & forth about Kiss rules@ Fleetwood Mac sucks! Or the reverse. I saw them (FM) the following year. Good time in the Bay Area back in the day, when the South Bay was still mostly fruit trees & not yet silicon. RIP Ace!

THAT was the BEST of their four solo LP's by far...
I only see Kiss once, at MSG, when they briefly reunited and of course were in make up. We took our youngest daughter. Aerosmith opened
As a junior in High school when Destroyer came out, the rumor was they were in horrible car accident and they had to put in the make up to cover the scars. There was no fact checking in 1978!

I never did see Kiss live, but I did go see Ace play on a solo tour. Such a great guitarist. RIP
Yep, he'll say he invented Ace.

I'm heading for the same boat. Doc wants to do neck fusion surgery. Getting a 2nd opinion. starting to lose feeling on occasion in left hand also.
