I think this was a "Let Freedom Ring" Missouri Meerschaum model. Generally I prefer pipes in the 5 to 5.75" range and this one sitting at just over six was bothering me. Chopped around 3/4 of an inch and set the filter back about a 1/4.

I wish they made a shorter Danish bit. I'd like to do something like this but opposite dimensions on the shank/stem. Like a Lovat/Lumberman cob.

You made it your own. The original owners of the Forever stem franchise used to offer cutting any of their stems to suit the buyer. You couldn't make them longer beyond their given length, but you could shorten to suit. I'm not sure what the current Forever stem people do. I've taken to buying the special editions with acrylic stems.

I chopped a stem off one of my RobRoy cobs, and made it a nosewarmer, with a nosewarmer forever stem. Nice and short.

Gotta say I like the "after" proportions much better. Can't say I have your skills. Nice mod.
