Quick Question on Pronunciation

Spartan is correct on 2 and 3

I say LAT-a-Kia and I THINK that is the correct way, but my first inclination was to say it like the OP...
I say per-EEK, so we're pretty close.
I just say Cav-en-dish, I never thought of saying it any other way since I am familiar with it as an English surname and I don't see why the pronunciation would be different.

I seem to remember from one article I read Latakia is Lah-tuh-KI-ya. Mick usually pronounces it AAAAAARGH!

We didn't write it the same way but I was basically trying to produce the sound that Baron and Rickpal have written out... It's the name of a Syrian port city and I think I googled its pronunciation one day and stopped saying "la-tak-ia" which was how I always used to say it in my head - I'd never heard it spoken before since I just read about it online.
