I have to admit it's more Cavendishy then I thought it would be. But it's still just something that polishes the blend a bit more then a defining flavor. It's just really nice so far. I haven't even tried more then a mini smoke of it but I think it's really good and not a connoisseur blend nor a casual "I just smoke and only care about it not being offensive" But somewhere in the middle. It's certainly something you can appreciate either as just a smoke or something to really dig into. It's going in the regular pile.

Haven't wanted to try it as am not that fond of cavendish.
According to Jeremy Reeves the type of Cavendish used in blends like Pegasus have almost no flavor. They are unflavored Cavendish as opposed to the thick, sticky Cavendish used in aromatics.
Its used to thicken the smoke and give richness.
There is a video on YouTube specifically about Pegasus.

One of my favorites. Im sitting on a lot. A little age helps, but it's a good all around easy smoking blend. If I'm staring at my collection and I take too long to decide what I want I just grab some of it cause I know it'll satisfy every time.
Yea it is my go to when I don’t know what I want. Great in the morning with coffee. I agree that it ages very well.

I'm happy to hear you gave Pegasus a try and are enjoying it! Of all the Burley blends out there Pegasus is my favorite and I really like how smooth and non-abrasive it is (especially for a Cornell & Diehl blend) while still packing a lot of flavor.

At the moment my personal "daily bread" non-aromatic blend is a mixture of 80% Pegasus and 20% Yorktown, since I like the way the natural sweetness from little extra bit of stoved Virginias takes the slightly acrid edge off the Burleys in Pegasus. Even without the extra Virginias though Pegasus is still my favorite Burley blend and the first one that comes to mind whenever some natural un-topped Burley sounds good. puffy

I have been adding some Three Sails to Pegasus lately to sweeten it up a bit. But it is good as is.

It’s a definite staple. Fantastic with morning ☕️. Nutty with subtle sweetness that is not overwhelming. Always have some on hand and thank God for bulk orders. 👍
Yes I agree so much with that. Nutty is the main flavor profile I picked up on. And not overwhelming is a very apt description of it.
Always have some on hand to smoke. Beware that it's a gateway drug to Haunted Bookshop, which I equally enjoy.
Ah crooner is the next C&D burly on the list in fact last week it was ahead of Pegasus... Oh wait...:)
Great in a morning cob with black coffee!
I broke my last cob dang nab it. I can imagine how true that is.
Don't even notice it.
To me the Cavendish smooths the blend out.
Putting those together because I do notice the cavendish but not in a jumps out way but because I can feel and slightly taste that smoothing out effect it has. The slight taste is a very mild carmelized flavor that is very lightly sweet. It's used to great effect and I wouldn't let it guide my choice on trying this blend. The virginias jump out and make way more noise in this blend then cavendish does.
Smoking a bowl as I write.
Big n Burley is another favourite.
That reminds me of one of my thoughts on this one. I always have liked burly and not had a big preference towards leaf types, but for people who don't like burly because they find it harsh or unrefined this blend could be taken as an attempt at challenging that notion and beating it so badly that it needs reconstructive surgery afterwards.

That is certainly the tag line for it. Smooth and non-abrasive. I feel like it might be my recommendation when people ask for a newbie friendly blend. I don't know if I could get it to bite. I really didn't feel like cadence mattered that much on it. And yes it amazingly still packs a lot of flavor and enough nuances to not be dull or boring.

I'll have to try that. But for me there are three tiers of blends I like. The top is I have to have some of this around if possible. And Yorktown and Pegasus are both in that ranking.

I agree. And one thing I have noticed is I pick up on the Virginia in this blend enough I don't know if I'd call it a burly blend or a burly forward blend.
