If the original end button was a reasonable fit but not secure, why not do as I suggested earlier in the thread, just glue it in. I'll bet that's what most manufactures do, if it's obviously not a screw in end button.
There's really no need for strap locks on an acoustic guitar, it's overkill. There's 2 other acoustic guitar pictures on this thread neither have strap locks.
Your strap end looks pretty substantial and isn't going anywhere fast. I'll bet it was a struggle to get over the the original end button.

I would use some light abrasive to take the sheen off the plastic peg shaft. Then use something like 'Super Glue' to stick the peg into the body of the guitar. That should do the job.

If you're looking for a less permanent but still effective solution, a wrap of painter's tape around the pin can help provide enough friction to keep it in place.
