Don't forget the dummies who put a lamp on the table, bend the cord 90 degrees and then push it tight to the wall.
Resistive heating is real.

Common misuses of power cords are:

1. Wrong gauge for use condition
2. Mechanical pinching either from bending or putting the dresser on the cord.
3. Overloading a cheap power strip. These are technically called RPTs (Relocatable Power Tap) they confuse breakers. Buy a good one. Think spend more than $25
4. Plugging a high motor use device such as a refrigerator or microwave or window A/C
5. Plugging other RPTs into other RPTs (Daisy chaining these devices doesn’t end well)

A neighbor, enlisted in the army, for the Spanish navy, said in the interview, that he was an electrical engineer, he ended up putting fire to a war frigate. Apparently, he looked like an electrical engineer, in fact, he looked like an electrical engineer, but it turned out that he wasn't. He worked in a hot dog stand, or very hot. He told me that he loved sausages deep fried in hot, very, very hot oil.61c235aac22c4026611aacf75ba84b63.gif

Shop Vac stories are the best because people don’t understand that the motor isn’t spark proof.

I had a guy changing the gas out of one snowmobile to the other, using the shop vac as a transfer pump.

Atomizing gas with a sparking ignition source doesn’t end well.

Another guy did the same with quads.

Another guy vacuumed out his trucks gas tank.

Another guy used his shop vac to transfer gas between the fuel tanks on his $150,000 boat.

They all end the same. 💥💥

Sometimes the person even survives.
we locally had one where a kid like 12 or 13 burned himself really bad trying to put a gas motor on his bicycle. Everyone who knew who he was said it be two or three months at most before he'd try again.

I worked a case where a “firebug” had been arrested eight times prior.

I’ve also worked cases where people do incredibly fire prone activities for years until one day they zig when they should have zagged.

People. Are. Odd.

But this is also why in real life I’m considered an introvert. I don’t like crowds, i rarely go to bars or restaurants anymore.

I’m all peopled out. I’ve interviewed thousands of people. I’ve waded through death, misery and stupidity. Almost nothing shocks me, but then….

What scares me the most is when you run into a narcissistic psychopath. I have met several, and they are evil beings, with an incredible load of envy and hatred. And yet, they are mixed in society, it can be your boss, or your co-worker. It is horrible. I'm sure ashdigger knows a lot about these toxic and harmful people.

Unfortunately I’ve met way too many, the only good thing is they all behave the same so they stick out like a sore thumb.

I can see that. Seems like an easy thing to be habitual about.

Yeah I think we've all known people who take dumb risks and when it bites them no one with half a brain is surprised at all.

We sure is.

Certain jobs can ruin your view of people really fast.
