I just recieved some Gawith,Hoggarth & Co cherry rope tobacco. Man what a smoke! In my area (north Georgia), you can still find very old fashioned twist chewing tobacco up in the mountains. My question is this GH&Co rope essentially the same thing as twist chew? Any knowledge appreciated.

I don't know if it is the same thing, but if you were so inclined I'm sure you could chew the GH twist. It smells like chewing tobacco to me. I smoke this as well and have several ounces cellared. I use a cigar cutter and cut it into coins. When I can keep it lit it is a great smoke.

I've chewed it and it's really not very good. I much prefer days o work plug. Usually have one at night before bed while walking my dogs. I prefer smoking twist, but not my favorite smoke by any means. Hard to light and keep lit, pain to prepare, and one dimensional taste. Just my opinion. I prefer flakes for smoking.
