Several days ago I let a wonderful Dunhill Blasted Lovats from the 40's go...then several days later I came across a 30's Duhill Blasted Billiard with a vernon tenon that looks amazing and I did not hesitate.

Description and pictures were spot on and the site is well respected.." looks nearly unsmoked"

My question for the experts is...is the stem original? The dot looks gray and smaller than other dunhills I have. I thinks the pipe is wonderful piece of history and hope to smoke it soon.

Thanks for looking and feed back is greatly appreciated.

Here’s a selection of Dunhill Factory Stems. Yes, one is missing a dot. My understanding is that people removed dots to be less conspicuous.

Starting at the top: 1933, 1934, 1955, 1943, Unknown Year (Shankectomy Factory Repair), 1933 and 1938

The second photo is of a stem George Dilbos made for my 1963 Dunhill Bent Bulldog

This photo is of three Ashton Stems. The top two are factory stems. The bottom is a George Dilbos

This photo is of three stems for the same pipe. The top is the factory. The middle is a replacement and the bottom a George Dilbos.

This next photo is where the reality shows in spades. Left stem is factory chewed by a cannibal, center is George Dilbos and right is replacement stem.

Hope this helps

Beautiful pipe! One of the finest conditioned 30s - 40s Dunhill I've seen.

Not an expert on stamping. Is there a chart shape stamped on it? It looks proportional to a 1946 #35 Billiard I own.
