I've an "Orlik" from the 1960's that I got brand new. It's reportedly from a batch that was made and then forgotten and then found and my local tobacconist got a batch of pipes from that one forgotten batch. If you're still with me, I'll say that I'm curious as to whether the pouch I got is identical to the one shewn in the first post here, but the pipe itself has no round insert in the stem, nor does it sport an 'Orlik' stamp: it actually says 'Old Royal'. Weird.

My orlik deluxe was the first pipe I ever purchased and it is still my best smoker. I found mine for $3.

Well just as a comparison, in my country it was the same price as a new Peterson or some savinelli’s and of course a lot higher than what you would pay for those in the States.
It was around 200 dollars.

Pipes are not quite cheap here. But considering it’s a very old pipe, unsmoked and in perfect condition with its box and all, for me it ended up being much more valuable than a Peterson or savi that costs the same over here. And I already have some savis purchased in Italy so...

I'd take it over a Peterson or a Savenelli! It's got more character.

Exactly! That was also my thought.

And by the way, I’ve seen orlik’s on SP.com sold from $130 to $160, so a little more than that considering I’m not in the US is within acceptable.

I was told it is from the 40’s probably, but it’s not a precise info.

I am the second owner, although it is not fully ‘broken in’ yet ? and the first owner told me he bought it new ‘about’ 50 years ago. It is however ‘already’ smoking well

Danish ! ( Like me ). De Luxe 1965 kr 49,50. I have more from that time - 50 years sounds realistic. Paper also in Danish, sold good here in those years.

First smoke today with some 965 and it smokes great!

Really nice to clench, perfect draw and overall a great pipe.
