Great news Irish! I hope that you can hit the zone again. You know, when you're not even feeling the exercise anymore; your pedals, your heart and your breathing are in perfect rhythm, all you feel is the wind in your face and your thoughts wander. Good luck and good riding!

That's great news, Irish. Hopefully with your new prosthetic you'll reinvigorate your "obsession" with bicycles.

That's why I run at the gym now. I used to run on the roads and sidewalks because I quit because I got sick of almost getting run over, having to deal with ignorant ass people who won't keep their dog on a leash and the city not keeping the trees trimmed away from the sidewalks. People will see you coming then pull their car almost all the way into the street instead of stopping at the stop sign. Every now and then I'd slam my body into their car just to freak 'em out. One guy looked at me all mean and I was like, "I ain't tired yet. Come on out!" He locked his door and I went on running.

25 years ago, in April, I was hit by a car while riding my road bicycle. At least, that's what the police report says. I have no recollection of that day and spotty memories of days and weeks following. I was lucky. I was young and I recovered fully from the biggest headache I ever experienced (major concussion and brain swell)and eventually rode again several years later. The authorities never found the person/persons who left me there. I don't ride much any more but that's due to age and laziness and only one is reversible! When you get the bugs worked out Irish, enjoy the bike to its fullest. Good luck and good riding!
