The one that got away. When I started this hobby a little over a year ago the very first briar pipe I wanted to purchase was the Savinelli Bing’s Favorite Punto Oro Sandblast. I had it in my basket in more than one online store only to find they were sold out after the purchase was made. I received my refunds but have still yet to find the pipe anywhere. Nothing fancy about it, but I suppose that’s one of reasons I like it. I have 8 Savinelli Punto Oro’s but a Bing’s Favorite is still at the top of my wish list.

I've been spoiled by great pipes recently -- an estate Ferndown from a Forums member, a great wide-stemed pot at a discount

from my go-to pipe carver, and two Stanwell's from P&C in the last three or four months. But the Ghost of Christmas Past has

favored me, or rather my wife was so kind as to give me a Johs freehand with plateau, a Johs extra large apple, a Chocum green

stain straight billiard, and a spiffy leather churchwarden pipe case (that can hold others) to go with a Savenelli 601 churchwarden

seen in the avatar. Also for Christmas one year my sister gave me a Gouda 14" clay pipe and a Giani bent billiard. So I'm trying to

whistle past PAD this Christmas; we'll see if I make it.

My mom asked what she could grab me for Christmas and after I hinted at a pipe she had me bookmark her a handful of them that I liked. I put down a few cheaper pipes from Radice, Cavicchi, and Ser Jacopo. I insisted I would be fine without a present but she was persistent and you don't argue too much with someone whose trying to buy you a pipe.
