Personally I hate the PS3 controller and find the Xbox 360 controller to be far superior so that will continue for me into the next generation. I would normally say right off the bat that I would buy the Xbox One but I'm sick of MS's crap. Now they are backpedaling on some of the shit they want to implement with the Xbox One like no used games and having to have an online connection pretty much at all times. If it weren't for Sony making MS look stupid at E3 they would have continued with their shenanegans. I'm also sick of having to pay every year to be able to play online.
Now I seriously have to think about maybe switching to the PS4 even though I can't stand the controller.
I'm a HUGE FIFA 13 fan. I play that more than any other game. I play online, offline at home and every Friday night with some neighbors.

When PS3 first came out, most who used it for Blue-ray movie watching burned them up. It wasn't until the 2nd gen PS3 came out that this problem was completely fixed.
They shipped 1st gen with a movie. They wanted it to be a "home entertainment" device. I have had both 360 and ps3 and the ps3 failed because of the shotty flow job the did with the mother board in the 1st machines.

I think there may be a solution for you. I know there are a few different ways people are able to play on xBoxb with a PS3 controller. Apparently many on xBox prefer the PS controller and created ways to port the device to xBox. I am sure someone has done the opposite with an xBox controller to a PS. So hopefully you can find the solution. I will look over the holiday to see if I can find one.

I had forgotten why they failed, I just remember they over heated because a movie disc is always spinning vs a game disc only spins to load the game. You would have thought with sony making so many different types of electronics they would have not had an issue with heat.
I can understand all the complains about MS stuff. xBox is the only thing of theirs I am positive about and I am only a fan of the technology innovations and not the system as a whole. I think there is plenty they could improve. I really don't think there will be many more generations of the modern day gaming console. Even today, they are essentially computers, just with different interfaces. At some point we will all have one box for everything and just download everything from the cloud.

The PS4 controller has been redesigned, it isn't going to be the same on this system. Personally, I never had any problem with the old controller.

I may be behind on what xbox has to offer bout thats cause im going solely on word of mouth amd yes may be i didn't check on any press release on xbox 1 i only have seen the E3 release for ps4 but in all honesty i don't care about xbox so i wont even bother to research it, Yes i maybe a "fanboy" buts thats for very good reason as i have never had an issue with any of my PS systems and its always been a great experience for me. I stated above that it was all personal preference and you can go either way, i was just simply trying to state what i thought you wanted to hear based on what ive heard didn't know you would lose your Sh%t on me either way i wont say anything about Xbox anymore cause i just don't care i got ps4 thats all that matters to me.
I hope you enjoy your system whatever you decide to get cause at the end thats all that really matters.
Edit:Took out the comments that would of come across as rude dont wanna start something over nothing

lol. I didn't lose my shit. I didn't even begin. Sorry if you took it that way. I am a fan of technology as a whole and am constantly trying to keep up with what is new. When I called you a fanboy, I meant it was obvious what you were choosing, and meant nothing bad by it. I don't take being called a fanboy on what I am passionate about as a bad thing. I lean towards xBox at the moment, and only slightly. Its all in good fun.
Now don't get me started on Apple vs Android (vs Windows vs BB OS vs....)

Brew, how different is it going to be. Looking at the picture smokeybear posted in his OP, it doesn't look very much different, other then the screen in the middle. I hadn't seen anything discussing differences with the PS4 controller other then the screen and the Bluetooth transmitting. (BTW I hat the fact that even though the current controllers are wireless we still have to by new ones for the new systems, both of them. Bunch of crap.)

This is where MS is really messing up imo. They are saying the thing is going to run 3 different OS's. For a company that has its own viable OS why the hell do you need 3 inside something that is basically a $300 dell you can walk out of best buy with(with some video enhancements). Why can't you just strip your already exsisting OS down and put your overlay on it. It seems to be over engineering.

EagleRico i was being sarcastic when i said lose your sh%t i don't doubt you know whats up with technology i got a brother in law whose exactly the same way. I myself do not understand things like P2P other then its a server for online gaming i think lol but im not upset and i didnt take "Fanboy" as an insult.
As for the controller its the only difference in the PS4 is the technology internally and a few external differences.
Internal(new)
-PlayStation Move color light added not sure of its purpose (also External)

-Speaker built in
External(new)
-Rubbery texture for grip

-Touch Pad

-Share Button

-Headphone Jack built in
Thats all from skimming online and reading a couple articles so don't quote me on this.

Can you point me in a direction where I can read up on this? I haven't seen this and it interests me.

I completely agree. This is part of their quest for world domination. Technology would work much faster if they would just work together. Imagine the things that we could have if they all stopped suing each other.

P2P is the bane of COD. P2P is when one you or one of the people you are playing with are host vs a neutral server. COD is setup as a P2P game, thus if you are the host, you can have what is called a lag switch, wear you keep moving in a game and lag everyone else. The result is, you can kill people in the game before they even see you. And that is just the most common way of cheating with P2P. There are many more things, like aim bots, hacked controllers and all kinds of things. A neutral server, like Halo is played on, prevents anything from outside the games programming from being able to influence it.
There is a whole industry designed around selling hacked controller just to use for COD. I can't stand cheaters. Some days I spend more time reporting cheaters then I do actually playing.

It was in their presentation when they did the mini reveal on the Microsoft campus. Ill have to find a youtube video and search for the clip. It was in the part when they were talking about the meat and potatoes of the hardware and software. I watched it live so I will have to track it back down.

My problem with the PS3 controller stems from the fact that the analog on the left should be where the digital pad is. The majority of games I play require the use of the left analog stick and the buttons on the right. I prefer the xbox as my thumbs would be in a matching neutral position when using the xbox controller versus having to drop my left thumb down to the analog on the ps4. Also I really don't like the PS3 implementation of the trigger buttons.
Smokey yes they are going to be running separate OS instances for both the main OS and the gaming portion of the console. I think part of the idea is if there is some type of instability in the game it won't blow the OS running the box itself but I could be wrong with this. Also there will be a 3rd instance for other apps like Netflix.

ha ha beat you to it. The nice thing of the multi OS approach is you can do stuff like skype or netflix while playing games and they are running in partitioned OS spaces so they don't affect each other.

Although seeing how poorly the first few Xbox 360's were when they came out (red ring of death anyone). I may decide until sometime in the spring of 14 to decide on which way to go with the console.
One thing I will be buying in September is FIFA 14!!!! WOOOOHOOO!!!!

Just read that link and ya thats cool i like the idea of separating OS to help each run better and also the kinect voice commands are pretty cool but i also dont think its necessary thats why the cost is so much higher i guess.
