I've been smoking PS Bullseye flake for awhile since it's readily available in bulk. I really enjoy it; the bright Virginias with the smokey earthy Perique in the middle. But I've been wondering if I've been missing something by not yet having tried Macbaren Dark Twist.
Just curious what's your opinion on PS Bullseye flake vs Macbaren Dark Twist? Is it worth the extra cost? In my area it's more than 2.5x the amount per oz.

They’re nothing alike.

Echo: they're nothing alike. The LBF really needs some age - the tobacco is very young upon purchase. Dark Twist is just a delightful tobacco. Like most Mac Baren products, it needs to be enjoyed slowly as it bites easily.

I like and cellared both.

As mentioned, they are very different. That being said, Dark Twist is something I would recommend anyone who likes Virginias to try. My body chemistry is such that I’ve never experienced “Mac Bite” from any Mac Baden blends, but YMMV. I get best results folding and loosely stuffing very dry coins in a smaller bowl.

Hey stop buying it! I rely on McCranie's for my preaged LBF.

Did you grab a tin of the 1983 Red Flake they had in stock? $60 is steep for me for a 50g tin but Jesus there was like 40 tins of it there last time I was in.
No, I kept away from the Red Flake and Red Ribbon. Wallet can’t stomach those prices. They still had a few tins left when I was in there. Matt was surprised it was still available.
