Does anyone have any promo codes for pipes and cigars .com? Everyone I try says it's expired. I'm going to get the frog Morton sampler. It's like 42.00 or 50oz or 59.00 for 100 oz. me being new and never bought any before should I go ahead and get the 100 oz tins? I'm new to pipe smoking but hear great things about these. I only have a cob and smoked only 10 bowls but I want to go at this full steam ahead and I've got great advise on here from some of the most upstanding people I've ever had pleasure talking too.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but it's 50g or 100g. I'm only pointing that out in case you're expecting 50oz or 100oz -- pretty big difference.
Assuming it is in your budget, I would dive in at the 100g size. I'll tell you this much, if you get the 100g size and don't like them, PM me and I'll trade you something else...pipe tobacco or cigars.

Also regarding promo codes, I think you have to spend $75 to get $5 off. You get free shipping at $100 and the promo code at $100 is $10 off. I would aim for $100 in tobacco, you get free shipping and $10 off, so you end up spending $90. All McClelland tobacco is 10% off right now, so I would double-check buying the sampler vs. buying each Frog Morton tin individually...you might come out ahead one way vs. the other. I was looking at the Blakeney's Best sampler the other day, and with the sale on, it is currently cheaper to buy each tin individually than to buy the sampler.

Ok I will def check that out. I know I said 100 was only like $18-20 more that's what I was saying. Being that I have not tried any if them should I go ahead and jump up to the bigger tins for the little cost difference? I am n a newbie and once I pop a tin can I keep it in that for let's say 1 month before I put it into a mason jar? Thanks again and I will pm you if I don't like them.

Depends on where you live as to how quickly the tins will dry out. Those lids seal okay. Once I open a tin, I usually transfer it to a mason jar, but if I know I'm going to smoke the tin within a week or two, cut a piece of tin/aluminum foil slightly larger than the opening of the tin. Place the piece of foil over the opening, then press the lid over the foil. This creates a better seal, plus the aluminum foil allows less moisture and other volatile compounds to escape. I don't claim to be an expert in this stuff -- I read this advice from GLPease once.

Honestly, dont buy that much until you know you like it, then stock up. From what i read some people like it and some dont. In some case pipers tend to like something in the start of their pipe experience and then hate it later on, so again dont buy a bunch until you know. The codes are iffy and sometime you can find coupons for certain brands of tobacco, best bet is to sign up at the company you want to try like STG(Scandinavian Tobacco Group) which covers a large portion of tobacco companies like lane and captain black.

"Average" bowl is 3g so a 100g tin is about like buying a box of cigars.
Codes are not iffy right now. There is a big link for them at the top of their homepage. I used the $125 code earlier this week. :)

Ok thanks all it just they make it sound so good like you get double for only $20 more. I have tried like 5 codes so far and.....nope no good. Thanks for the advise about the foil. I will def do that. Also do you think I should go out and buy a decent brier pipe. I only have a mm cob and seems like every bowl I smoke it does get better. I wish I had a person close to me to let's say mentor me on how to stuff like perhaps a pipe club here in Columbus Ohio. I truly appreciate all the help on here I just want to say a big THANK YOU!

Guess what? You have a great pipe club in the Columbus area. You also have one of the more famous/respected pipe shops in all the country located right there in Columbus. You are lucky. You need to get yourself down to Smokers' Haven at your first opportunity. Premal really knows how to take care of his customers, and he usually has a great selection of pipes. Get down there today or this weekend at the latest!

Block your calendar for Aug 22-23 as there will be a great pipe show in Columbus, OH. You don't want to miss it. It will change the way you view pipes, pipe tobacco, and this "hobby" in general.

I used the code for 15 dollars off and got free shipping. You just have to make sure you have enough without the promo code exclusions. For example Dunhill does count for the promo code. It worked good for me. I bought two 100 oz of Frog Morton Cellar and 2 tins of Cult Blood Red Moon plus some other stuff. Good week for me!

Hmmmm, using the codes, it gave me $10 off, but keeps bumping the cost of shipping back on there, which cancels out the promotional deal making my savings only $3.
Did you guys use the code at the $100 level and get it to give you both the savings and free shipping?
Yeah, I just played around with their checkout system and it looks like you'll have to buy $110 worth of product to use the promo code and get free shipping. In other words, total after discounts still needs to be north of $99. This is a change that must have come along with the site change when P&C was bought out by the big boys. With their old checkout system, I could use promo codes and still get free shipping as long as the subtotal was $99+
