Very nice. I'm gonna have to bug you for the secret to those nice, clean bowl rims one of these days. I can do pretty well but the point comes when the saliva and cloth/cotton are taking the stain off the rim.
Too true Stig. Too true. I tend to take it to that edge, and then when I stop getting good volumes of rim char off I stop, and then ask myself if tripoli/topping/murphy's oil soap is the next step. I have found that in the couple instances where I have taken stain off with spit and towels, that waxing brings back enough of the colour to blend well. I'm still learning. The plateau top in the egg carton above is going to be a real challenge: contrast stain, rim charring in the plateau and some leaching of the stain in the clean up. I may be reaching for the febrings on that one...I can do pretty well but the point comes when the saliva and cloth/cotton are taking the stain off the rim.
Hah! Yeah, I know a guy on the east coast with a view of the harbour from his balcony who LOVES him some authors... :DParticularly the author. No doubt your biggest challenge, but OMG, a definite and potential winner
Glad to hear it Smokey! It was nice to see you this morning. Can't wait to break in my new Trypis pipes.the Billiard/Pot is absolutely perfect
I knew that was going to be your favourite Brian. Nice to hear about the 1 Dots. I'll be holding onto that bent Dublin with the wonky stem, and am looking forward to re-seasoning that pipe. I also am truly looking forward to finding a stem for the author, which will also be staying in my collection, along with the Brigham VIP. I should have pics of that VIP tonight. The straight pot does it for me. Funny thing, all my 1 Dots are my best smokers for some reason.
