Hello ladies and germs,

I used to frequent this board ages ago, under a username I can’t even remember using a defunct email, but I recognize plenty of your old timers, and I’m happy to be back.

I started smoking a pipe on my 18th birthday in 2007, back when Penzance was freely available, and my love of McClelland seemed to never be in any danger. I ended up quitting the pipe for a few years for a variety of reasons (mostly time and money), and in that time McC closed up shop, and my favorite brand by a fair few miles left me searching for new blends upon my return. I discovered a few new favorites, cellared what I could afford (not much), and ended up taking another few year break after not having a balcony to smoke on, and my son being born which seemed to eat at my free time.

I still haven’t quite re-entered the smokeforce, but we’re finally looking at buying a house of our own, and the possibility of smoking in peace (without apartment neighbors coughing or staring at me every time I light up) has me it itching to break the seal on a few VA flakes that I tucked away in 2019. Unfortunately, I relocated to a state (Maine) which doesn’t allow tobacco to be shipped to individuals (pure stupidity) so I’ll need to figure out some sort of workaround. Any ideas?

Until we actually buy a house and move, I’ll be living vicariously through all of you. Glad to be back. This is easily my favorite online community. Glad to see it hasn’t gone downhill like most places on the net have over the years.

Welcome to the forum from KC!! Try cultivating a relationship with a B&M up there. They could order it for you. It may be a drive to this place and they will charge a premium for the tobacco as well be expecting you to pay for all they order. And then again maybe not.

Welcome to the pain and the suffering of the home ownership. Hopefully, you are not in any homeowners' association and your grass may grow healthy or die depends on your pleasure. Don't forget a Weber grill, man's second best friend, and your dog, if you have one. Smoke in good health!

Welcome back, from Southern California. I think you'll find the forum constituents are as surly pleasant and disagreeable interesting as ever. You'll also endeavor to familiarize yourself with the strikethrough function, as previously demonstrated, but this will come in due time. Meanwhile, you've got some delightful VAs to enjoy.

Nice avatar pic! Looks like some type of nuthatch, if my eyes don't deceive me. Anyway, enjoy the forum and enjoy the journey!

It does look quite a lot like a nuthatch at this size, but it is a black and white warbler that liked hanging around our place last fall. Goofy little birds with a lot of personality.

Thankfully HOAs are few and far between out in the sticks. I don’t think I could bear living with one. I’ve already got the Weber, but I do feel guilty flooding my neighbors with smoke so it rarely gets used. It’ll be a lot happier once it can belch its smoke freely into the woods, hopefully a few times a week!
