Roth, if I read your comments correctly (i.e. that you frequently can't access PM forums), you may be having an issue that is beyond this recent problem - could be related to a routing issue.

you've got 400+ hours here, I'm at 1800+ -- so naturally, it only makes sense that I notice/experience a lot more system burps, internal errors, and site server issues than you would.

I am starting to do IT Security....This sounds to me like a local host file has been changed by an attacker.
It is not a real hard process and if not really sending you to dummy bank sites, I see no real danger in it.
The way to test for it is to enter the IP Address to this site in the address bar of your browser instead of the words pipemagazine and if the IP Address brings you to this site and the words do not, Then the host file has been changed.
Identity thieves use this process to send you to a dummy site to steal your information.
