So im trying to figure out what a tin of Momoyama 50g Tin that was distributed through the US go for? My understanding is this was discontinued for distribution in the US years ago and has become quite rare. I have found a Tin and am wondering what its worth is. Any help with a round about price would be greatly appreciated.

Made in Denmark or made in Japan (original) will make a difference. I'd guess it's about $50 for the Danish, and over $100 if made in Japan...could be more but there's a ballpark for you anyway.

I think Ron's in the ballpark on the Japanese Tobacco made Momoyama although I never sold any for more than $65-$75/tin. Production ceased in 2005 or 2006. The Mac Baren made Momoyama II and Momoyama III has no demand on the collector's market and I think (but am not positive), that Mac Baren gave up on them after a short period of production.

ebay now prohibits the sale of tins with tobacco in them. - clickklick
clickklick hit the nail on the head. Some sellers are still getting away with it but once they get caught they are red flagged and second violations result in suspensions. I'd really like for that not to happen to me, so, I sell the tobacco consignments on my private website and pipes on eBay. I feel safer that way... for now, anyway. (-:

@clickklick dont take it that way bro! This was in reference to 2 tins i found on eBay for $90 dollars a tin talked him down to $60 using you as leverage!(no names of course, just some guy on a forum could do better than $90) Someone bought both tins for full price so I was out of any extra tins.

Again thanks for helpin me out the other day.

On the eBay issue I noticed people were listing the tins: Sale and value is in the tin itself not the contents due to it being a dated product. -I wonder if that would actually work. Me thinks not.
