Prepping used pipe racks?

I think I found a place to get a really good deal on some used pipe racks, seeing as how I dont have a real one yet. My question for you guys who have bought used pipe racks is: do you need to do anything to them before loading your pipes into them? Do you just dust them off a little? Do you hit them with some Pledge maybe? Anyone who has any experience with this kind of thing, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Got a couple used from an antique store. Dust and go man. No issues here.

A good scrub with Murphy's oil soap never hurt anything. If you're talking about refinishing, make it a DIY project for a weekend.

That is what I'd do with them as well..... Just make sure to wipe them after the Murphy's with a damp cloth.

After the Murphy's , a quick wipe with some Old English furniture polish will do wonders for minor scratching.

Dust and go or refinish, what ever floats your boat. My used rack sits in our dining room, so it needs to be somewhat presentable.

I used to just wipe them down with a wet rag and then dry them with a dry rag! Now I have added Murphy's Oil soap to the line up!

Murphy's works good, but I'm not a big fan of the smell of it.
