Preparing Sweet Coconut Twist To Smoke

It falls into my sweet spot of strong Nicotine blends. Ample amount of Nicotine to make things interesting but less strong than Rustica which can be overwhelming. I should also open my brown rope I think

I have heard rumors that Brown Rope #4 from SG is the same rope used to make the topped GH sweet twists, but after trying both, I don’t think so at all. They are both great, but taste quite different to me. Brown #4 is much earthier, with some wood notes, and a little spice. The two GH sweet twists I’ve tried are just that- sweet, with a more delicate taste. If you’ve never tried SG Kendal Plug, to me it’s a similar style Virginia to the sweet twists, but without the toppings.

Yes, I think you’re right, but I’m probably a bad judge of nicotine. I don’t feel any nicotine at all from the sweet GH twists, but I do feel a mild amount from the Brown No 4 and Black XX.

I did feel the nicotine yesterday but this is a pipe dedicated to Rustica and I have smoked a few bowls of Rustica in this before.

So back to prep and smoke again!

? This thread made me load up a bowl of Brown No 4. Smoking it right now, about 1/4 into the bowl.

I smoke the GH sweet twists fairly regularly, along with GH and SG plugs and flakes (just had a bowl of GH Dark Plug last night). I find that microwave drying takes away too much flavor. I have tried drying them to various levels of moisture and think they are a better tasting when dried a bit but not too much. Sometimes I smoke them with no drying, and it takes more relights but the flavor is worth it. Experiment!

Interesting. I have an unopened tin of No. 4, so will have to try it. I don't feel the nicotine in the sweet ropes. I can feel the nic in the Black XX if I smoke too fast, same with Dark Plug. Dark Birdseye is one that I definitely feel the nicotine. Not overpowering, but it is there for me.

Haven’t tried Dark Birdseye yet. Black XX actually gives me slightly more nic than Brown No 4, which is backwards from most people’s experience, and I think for the same reason you mentioned: it’s a little harder to keep lit, so I think I probably smoke it faster.

From my understanding and experience GH Ropes and SG Brown no.4 are different blends. GH Ropes are pure virginia, sweeter than SG No. 4. SG No. 4 has some burley and cigar leaf is much more robust to me, stronger taste for sure. I like them both. I have the GH brown irish, sweet whiskey(fantastic), maple twist, black irish coins. For SG I have the brown no.4 and the black irish xx. I could be wrong but this is main difference I notice between GH and SG ropes that I have. All fantastic and only thing that satisfy me when I am craving that flavor.

I think the Brown #4 may have a tiny amount of something fire-cured in it, too. It gives me a little spice or catch in the back of my throat that I seem to only get with fire-cured tobacco. But it’s so “barely there” that it’s hard for me to say for sure.

I have a plastic one that I gunked up that way. It doesn't slide as smoothly and it will mess up a cigar now.

I have done the same. I ended up breaking the plastic one and then washed the other one. If you wash them out in some soap water you can continue to use the cutter.

Ropes gunk up my knife blades too. I have to wash them every now and again also.

I got an intense headache and thought, "Great, maybe I'll get super powers" I was holding a bottle of Fabreeze at the time so I set that down and, took an Advil and had a nap. Ever since then, when I fart, it smells like a lavender field. Worse super power ever.
