I was thinking we would win also then I got to thinking about all the RYO that is labeled "pipe tobacco" and I am not so sure now.

Man, I enjoy a conversation like this, but it’s exactly the kind of discussion that rolls like greased lightning in person and devolves into utter mayhem online.

The Ukrainian military is not only defending their sovereignty and their people, but destroying the military capabilities and revealing the weaknesses of an enemy foreign power - Russia, by the way, is openly hostile to the United States - so what is there to lose by giving them a bunch or surplus hardware to fight with? We get to field test our gear and collect data on it while they fight our enemy for us. I'm not seeing the downside, here. I really just don't understand the arguments against arming Ukraine, aside from a pro-Russian standpoint.

Only problem is we don't have enough if another front opens up. Taiwan. And when Taiwan opens up, S. Korea and Japan open up. Yes, the chances are slim. But the idea is called deterrent. We need the image of strong military front which we are losing by the day with lack of new recruits, running out of weapons and reorganization that's been going on giving weak image enticing China from acting up. Bad decisions by miles. And of course, we need to protect cigars with arms and teeth.

P.S. I do believe in helping Europe. Although, French president was in China waxing Chinese dick saying they do not agree with everything US does like Taiwan. While we are pouring money into Ukraine that we can't account for, promising tanks that we don't have and safe guarding Europe, once again, while young Europeans pissing on us. I love Europe. Just hope they love us, some day.
